In the fine spun light of the november moon, her eyes looked like giant blue marbles. Sparkling and shining. Her skin, set quietly with a faint yellow undertone. everything seemed carved out of limestone. firm lines of softness in the cold autumn air. He watched her, waiting. His eyebrows furrowed in that painful look of expectation. flickers of wantonness flashed throughout him.
Then, a faint movement, somewhere deep within the death-set subconscious. The glimmer of hope that his hands twisted about, kneading into a worried ball. The lids slowly closed over those  marbles. A small tear fell, lonesome in its joy. The man clammered to hold back his excitement. Fought with his own will to stay quiet, not wanting her to awaken yet. He knew what the first thing he had to do was, and not a moment to lose. For, if she awoke while he was out, all chaos would break and everything spoiled. Spoiled as the rotting corpse of her had once been. Had once been the object of all his study and amazement. Staring down at her one last time before leaving was all he could do to not shout out loud-"I have brought her back!"

Darkness, all around. Great abounding swells of darkness, and dank. musky cold that seeped into her skin, chilling her very soul. Nothing was amazing to her now though. What new adventure had she taken, unbeknownst. Some far off gallant to another system perhaps,Who was to know for sure, not her of course. Surrounding her stood monumental towers of blackness, waiting no doubt ,to tell her where she was. These abhorring sentinels though, said nothing. The feeling, in her fingers was slightly familiar. As was the atmosphere. This had all ready been done, she was sure.
A noise resounded from inside one of the towers and she waited. Expecting them to speak to her of a far off destination she was to inhabit. Of some new discovery she was to make and bring home. If home was what you could call it. A place to be, to be said you were from. But hardly home. But, no voice came, not even a new language. Just a noise. a Simple noise, like a piece of ridged celophane being crumpled. Then appeared from behind one of these masked creatures a new species. This one looked familiar also. quite high, but not to thick. Thin tentacle-like things jutting from four spots of it's body. And one rather large orb near the top. This creatures' face was that of pure terror. An orfice in the center of the orb, standing ajar while two others slightly above and to the sides stood in stark wideness. This was just like Them, to send her somewhere like this. Where the animals stood gawking, stupidly staring at her as though life was coming to an end in her face.
The feeling returned. This time consuming her entire body. An electrical jarring type of feeling. Almost as if the fire were inside her soul, trying to eat it's way out into this coldness. With a stiff wrenching motion downward with her eyes, she could see her body. The same as that of the thing who stood before her. Or, almost the same, she noticed. Then, did that mean she was one of these animals, or was this imagination? she questioned her mind in a completely unanswerable way. To the left of her stood this stupid drooling beast, watching her watch herself. She made another motion with this, as she discovered, very versatile body. Nearly sending the beast into convulsions, a simple movement as such. And the beast replied to her with only a small hissing noise issuing from that center hole....

Could this be? what on earth had he left her alone for again? the thought escaped him immeasurably. His excitement needing no concealing now.  the only thing left was for him to talk to her, tell her everything that had happened. This need scorched him but no words escaped him. Why could he not talk to she whom he knew better than anyone else? The shock of her death had certainly sent him raving far and wide, but, should the shock of her life bring him crashing back into the earth so? He breathed a deep breath. Noticing now that the odor had left her. That all too familiar odor of death. The only scent left in the air was that of glowering pine, fresh and routine, letting him organize his thoughts. His eyes opened to the bewilderment that sat before him. Now upright on the stone slab, curiously looking around. He knew that he should say something now- before the moment was lost forever, but again, nothing came.
Instead he reached out one miserably shaking hand to touch her. To feel the realness and dismiss the thought of hallucination. There she was. Strong, Alive. Blood pumping so fast and furious that her heartbeat could be heard and felt throughout her entire body. She turned, shifting quickly at that blazing hot touch. Her blue eyes seeming to see through his mind. Breaking apart the pattern of the night. His stomach fluttered with all the nausea of seeing her face. Not as it had once been, but instead as it had always been. Glowing happily at every murmur and joke. The nausea, caused unknowingly by that smile that sliced across her face in a brisk gash, quickly passed as if carried by a breeze.
As his arm found her shoulder, she let the smile slide. This was also done, she knew it in her deepest heart. She knew what she had to do then, to let go and follow this man. Yes, he was a man. She knew though nothing was their to prove the fact. And they were to leave this place. This place that shivered and rambled in the fast blowing wind. He looked, appalled that she trusted him. Though no words had passed between them. The look on her face told him all he needed to know. Out of pure curiosity she would follow him anywhere now...

Walking through more of these giant beasts seemed to be necessary to get to their destination, though they watched her with the intensity of a thousand eyes. They entered a strange building. The walls were nearly as firm as the walls of were she came from, she noted. But, something felt different in them. Something unnatural and unknown was beset within their marble barriers. She was struck with awe at the appearance of an opening. There were several walls, all covered in thick shelving. Books and things covered them from top to bottom. This she knew. These objects called out to her with a knowledge. These were things that she was used to where she was from. These things there, though ,had been relics. Age-old items sealed in demonstration cases. There to look and not touch due to their fragileness. The creature set her down into a very slippery soft bag of some sort. The thing was almost perfectly shaped to fit this new body also.
The memory of relics disturbed something else in her. That was also where she had seen the shape she occupied now. In the cases. Sealed tightly, but still there. If memory served after all of this shock, She believed that these were called Homo-sapiens. A silly race at least. They had believed in two super-beings. One above, inhabiting the stars and one below, inhabiting the magma. The forces of Good, evil. Such silly things produced a glimmer of laughter within her. Then the sapiens face contorted in such a way to feel pleasurable to her. The other Person, she thought must be what he was called, looked strangely at her. Scarily almost as if into the very pit of her existence.
The man came, sat near her and stared. Stared so long and hard that a deep feeling released within her. Unsure of what this feeling was, or why this feeling was for that matter, she tried with all of the meager strength that she had to make it fly away. but the claws were rooted deep in her and with all the pushing, it wouldn't leave. The man moved, stealthily slipping his fingers out of hiding and into the air that ly between them. Closer and closer they came. Until they touched her. Slid across her lips and cheeks in a motion of such gentle love that his heart tripped over itself in ecstasy. This was actually her and this was real, dreams ceased to have importance. No more would he have to look at her through the film of sleep. Only to have her vanish wtihin moments.
She felt a strange sensation in her and suddenly pictures of this man came sailing into her mind. Teaching children the art of science. Sitting beneath a tree. Laughing and smiling. And she knew what these things around her were called and what everything was. Others called the man Philip but people who were close to him knew him as Phil. And once a long time before they had lived together. Loved eachother. Until the accident and then came the blackness. Total and utter termination of all the beautiful things of life. After that all she could remember was being sent somewhere. And then there was what she had always known. This new knowledge imparied her so that seizures took over her body, tearing apart sanity. All she could manage was a squeal. A scream that shattered Phil's thoughts. A thousand tiny memories lying on the floor as colorful broken stained glass fallen from a window.
She dropped to the ground with a burst of pain and horrific fantasticness. A thumping pounding echoed throughout her ears. His eyes bulged with the revelation of what he had done....

This was wrong. He understood it now. This was the reason that life stayed life and death remained death. No one could come back. His heart hurt at the thought, but rationality took over sanity and he moved automatically. Not thinking of what he was doing or planning on doing. Just thinking of how beautiful it all could have been. The life that had died with her could have been reborn. But, all was a shattered dream. The film of sleep seemed to have drifted out of the night world and into reality now. To let her vanish as quickly as she had appeared. His fingers touched the blade, caressing it almost. It was the weapon of death that would finally bring her peace. Would finally show her the love that he felt for her with all his heart and personal being.Grasping it in his hand, he thought of what everything was, and he didn't think of anything at all. Blurrieness covered the world and everything was blocked out except for blood red her....

She could see the blade, it's shiny edge catching her attention and making her want to be with it. So, when it's sharpness peirced her tender flesh, sending a bright flood of scarlet flying about the room, She blessed herself. And, when the darkness again clouded her eyes. She blessed the man known as Phil, for ending all the strangeness.

When the light fluttered back on the wings of a dove, another bolt of fright shot through her body, until she realized that she was home. This was the place of her birth. And there, standing over her was Killm. He looked happy and his eyes shone with delight. From his tongue uttered the dialect she was used to. He praised her for coming through it all, and told her how worried he had been about her. She breathed a sigh of releif. Releif in the comfortableness of herself. It had all been a dream, Everything......Except, She knew differently from the pain she felt. On the surface and inside where the soul was kept....Eternally.

24.2.5006-  Killm's Traveling Journal

Marilyn died today. She died five years, approximately, after the day that time readjusted. The others who were with us don't know why she died, but they didn't questioned it either, for she was talking of strange things and people of the past. They buried her on the side of a road, along with a few others who had passed away around the time. I, Killm.  had an inscription placed upon the stone they set over the ground of her burial. It said " thou shalt now live in peace". And I finally got to show her the love I felt with all my heart and personal being.
